Mechanically excellent with minor cosmetic blemishes. Very clean,
professionally tuned up, ready to ride! ("Ready to ride" only applies
if you pick it up in person).
This is a very high quality, lightweight bike with alloy frame, many alloy parts, sealed bearing parts, etc. The quality of this bike is comparable to a good lightweight adult bike, so the wear and tear of a child riding it is comparatively minimal. Expect this bike to last many generations of kids riding it (either as hand-me-downs or through resale to other families). Don't discount the value to the child: a good quality, lightweight bike is more likely to inspire a kid to love cycling. It's easier to ride up hills, easier to handle, the gear shifting works better, the brakes work better, it's safer, etc.

We are the original owners, and as you'll see in the pictures, we are very fastidious bicycle fanatics. Bike is about two years old, and has been very well maintained. It has been ridding primarily on the road; notice the installed fenders.
The bike has been improved with a few modifications:
Longer Origin-8 140mm crankset (original 127mm was too short/small for our boy in 2021)
Front derailleur helps keep the chain on (when going over bumpy terrain) - front derailleur does not shift
(there is only one chainring in front).
I added a quick-link to chain to facilitate maintenance (chain is lubed in paraffin wax, which is superior and cleaner, but you can revert to oil at any time) If you pick it up in person, then mechanically it is better than new: fully assembled, components professionally adjusted and lubricated. Note: when you buy this bike new online, the dealer sends it to you partly disassembled. In addition to assembly, ours also required some non-trivial adjustments. They seem to come from England with the wheel bearings far too tight! Brakes and shifting needed adjustment. All this has been done for you, if you buy this bike!
